Introduction to the Center for Phenomenology 

and German Classical Philosophy Studies at Guizhou University

 

The Center for Phenomenology and German Classical Philosophy Studies at Guizhou University was established in August 2022, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Department of Philosophy at Guizhou University. The Center focuses on researching the interconnections between phenomenology and German classical philosophy. Its main research areas include: 1. Phenomenology's critique and reappropriation of German classical philosophy; 2. The transition and transformation from German classical philosophy to phenomenology; 3. Lotze's philosophy; 4. Heidegger's thought.

 

The Center's Director, Professor Zhang-Ke, is a Distinguished Professor at the School of Philosophy of Guizhou University. He is also a Young Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, a Leading Talent in Philosophy and Social Sciences under the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, a Cultural Celebrity and Four Batches Talent of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and an expert receiving Special Government Allowances from the State Council. The Center's team also includes two associate professors and seven lecturers, two of whom hold Ph.D. degrees in philosophy from German universities. Team members include: Chen-Gang, Li-Mingyang, Li-Ruoyu, Ma-Tao, Niu-Yao, Peng-Yang, Wei-Zhengxi, Yu-Siyan, and Zhang-Lianfu (listed in alphabetical order by surname).

 

The Center is located on the second floor of the Sixian Building on the East Campus of Guizhou University.
